Shankar takes top job at Star India

MUMBAI - Star India has promoted chief operating officer Uday Shankar (pictured) to CEO and Hong Kong-based senior VP finance Jagdish Kumar to COO.

Shankar takes on the role which has been temporarily filled by Star CEO Paul Aiello, and the appointment is effective immediately. Shankar, who will report to Aiello, joined Star India in May 2007, and will be responsible for Star’s overall business in India.

Kumar will report to Shankar and work on improving operational efficiencies and driving the company’s growth in India.
