In addition to Ang, who was previously head of digital for Publicis, the new agency has also named Joe Lin as its ECD. Lin joins from Publicis Modem San Francisco. Former Publicis Dialog Thailand chief Will Anstee becomes GM of Publicis Modem Singapore, while former Publicis Dialog Shanghai MD Major Lin has been named regional integrated marketing communications director.
In addition to Singapore, the new network will also launch in Hong Kong, followed by Taipei, China, Korea and India. The network is being based around a positioning of “data-rich conversations”. “What clients want is an agency that understands the digital platform and the commmunications structure to get people to that platform,” said Publicis regional CEO Matthew Godfrey who, in conjunction with chief creative officer Calvin Soh, will oversee Publicis Modem.
The agency launches with client business from HP, Wyeth, MGM Grand, Western Union, Philips and Citibank, along with an expected global assignment from LG Electronics.
Planning resources, meanwhile, will be shared across Publicis Worldwide and Publicis Modem, with George Singleton heading North Asia, and Partha Sinha overseeing South and Southeast Asia.
