The exclusive affiliation does not involve a shareholding and is the first time Citigate Dewe Rogerson has signed an agreement with an Australian consultancy, according to Citigate Greater China head Diana Footitt.
"We were attracted to the financial strength of the (CPR) team and their understanding of investor relations and transaction communications," she said.
CPR has nationwide operations in Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane,Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney and includes issues management and government relations in its professional remit.
Footitt cited Australian client Macquarie Bank as a factor in the tie-up.
Meanwhile, client demand has precipitated a slew of hires to strengthen teams at Citigate's Hong Kong and Beijing offices.
Emma Zhao comes on board in Beijing following an MBA and a corporate communications tenure with the Tax Authority. Her two-fold role includes corporate comms for global financial and professional services clients, and financial media relations for IR clientele.
