Philippines pitch to boost investments

MANILA - A campaign to attract higher levels of foreign investment to the Philippines is being pitched by the Government.

BBDO Guerrero Ortega, a key agency for the Department of Tourism (DOT) since 2003, is believed to have pitched against Avellana, Dentsu, Euro RSCG and J Romero & Associates.

The Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation, part of DOT, called the pitch via a Government tender.

The campaign aims to lure businesses across a broad range of sectors and will follow the ‘Wow Philippines – More than the usual’ campaign by BBDO Guerrero Ortega, which was designed to boost tourist numbers. In the first two months of 2007, tourist numbers stood at 520,256, an increase of 5.8 per cent over 2006.
