Ogilvy & Mather was named Agency of the Year and won three golds at the AdMan Awards 2006, Thailand's third annual advertising awards show organised by the Advertising Association of Thailand (AAT).
The night's other major winners included BBDO Bangkok with the Best of Print/Outdoor honour for its Maglite 'Darkside' campaign, and independent shop Creative Juice/G1 was awarded for the Best of TV honour for its highly-awarded Bangkok Insurance's 'Robbery', 'Tyre' and 'Twister' spots. Local production house Phenomena collected the Production House of the Year award and IndoSport (Thailand) the Advertiser of the Year prize for running the most award-winning work.
The competition received 1,183 entries, with JWT submitting the most number of entries at 106. The judging panel included two foreign creative directors, Rob Sherlock of FCB Southeast Asia and Tomotake Kawagoe of Asatsu-DK, Tokyo. "The awards have become a barometer of local creative work that's worthy of international acclaim," said Parames Rachjaibun, AAT's emeritus chairman. "We're confident that several of the winners will be contenders at Cannes."
