Ogilvy names new Japan leadership

The agency has appointed a Saatchi & Saatchi veteran following Todd Krugman's move to the US.

Jack Mickle

Ogilvy & Mather has appointed Jack Mickle as CEO in Japan. He replaces Todd Krugman, who relocated to the US in December. Kent Wertime, co-CEO for Asia-Pacific, has overseen activities at the office in the interim.

Mickle was managing director of Saatchi & Saatchi Japan from 2002 to 2008. He has experience working in a number of other Asian markets and returns to Japan from the US, where he has run his own company for the past seven years.

According to a statement from Ogilvy, Leo Shiina, formerly group finance director, will support Mickle as COO. Mickle was not immediately available for comment on his new role.

Krugman, along with chief creative officer Ajab Samrai, helped engineer a turnaround at Ogilvy Japan over his five-year tenure. He is now president of global IBM brand services for Ogilvy in New York.
