Motorola hooks up with Shanghai Tang

SHANGHAI - Iconic fashion brand Shanghai Tang has teamed up with Motorola to design exclusive handset cases to be rolled out globally.

According to Motorola chiefs, the alliance was a natural fit, allowing each brand to leverage the other's 'Style, function and luxury in our respective markets" said Ian Chapman-Banks, Motorola VP and GM, Asia-Pacific marketing, mobile devices business.

"They are the ideal accessories for everyone, from image-conscious consumers to budding power brokers and discerning fashionistas," said Chapman-Banks.

The creative work combines the reflective motif of the MotoKrzr with Shanghai Tang's Chinese styling, and seeks to combine symbolism with fashion in an eye-catching manner.

Focusing on print as the main media channel, the ad campaign showcases a beautiful woman with her Motokrzr, with the handset's reflection attracting the gold fish swimming in the water.

"We wanted to create something that identifies with both Shanghai Tang and Moto-rola," Chapman-Banks said. "The creative work highlights our product features very artistically, and plays on a traditional, favourite motif in Chinese culture, the goldfish."
