The pair will assume regional responsibility (in-market management, international media planning and buying) for MEC's key clients, including Caltex/Chevron Texaco and Sony Ericsson.
Anand, who most recently headed up Starcom Singapore's regional client business division, has more than nine years' experience in the media industry having worked on Asia Pacific Breweries and Prudential Assurance Company accounts. Mak was named the Institute of Advertising Singapore's 'Young professional of the Year 2003' for innovative media placement on Nestle and Gillette.
The two executives will be based in Singapore and will report to MEC International's senior managing partner, Tess Caven.
Caven said the promotions reflected the number of clients who now understand the value of specialised global media planning and buying. She added: "We were the first agency in Asia to establish an international division and have grown from two key personnel in 1998 to a team of 12 in 2004."
The appointments come just two weeks after Euro RSCG's David Morgan was named CEO of North Asia (Media, April 23).
