M&C Saatchi to hub digital out of Singapore

SINGAPORE - M&C Saatchi is launching a regional digital hub to be headed up by digital creative director Jon McKenzie.

Based in the Singapore office, McKenzie will be joined by a yet to be named digital specialist from the UK to run the unit, which will have a staff of 12, including affiliate partners.

Kim Walker, M&C Saatchi Asia president and CEO, said the agency was looking at alliances and acquisitions to bolster the digital team permanently.

“We’ve done some award-winning digital work for clients such as Zuji and the Singapore Institute of Management locally. But the nature of digital means that we can handle work for other markets to better pool our resources,” said Walker.

Separately, M&C’s Shanghai office has won a brief to promote a commemorative Olympics Visa card for Bank of China. The business was awarded without a pitch through an existing relationship with The Distillery, M&C’s brand consulting division.

M&C Saatchi handles the RBS account in the account in the UK, which acquired a 10 per cent stake in Bank of China in 2005.
