Intel stays silent on F-H's HK role

Intel Semiconductor has refused to comment on speculation that its Hong Kong and regional accounts will follow suit after the chipmaker confirmed it was reviewing its Singapore brief.

Five agencies are believed to be involved in the Singapore review, including Upstream Asia, Text100, Weber Shandwick and Edelman. Fleishman-Hillard is the regional incumbent on the business, and also handles the Hong Kong and Singapore accounts. "Fleishman-Hillard wasn't able to service the account the way that we need them to," said an Intel spokesperson of the review. "We have made the decision that we could no longer service their business in or out of Singapore," said Fleishman Southeast Asia managing director Tham Kok Wing. F-H also recently lost client service director Beth Boswell to its San Francisco office, where she will assume the role of SVP and partner, director of client service. Intel was one of the accounts handled by Boswell during her nine-year tenure in Asia. "This is obviously a big opportunity for Beth and for our firm as the business exchange intensifies between our San Francisco office and the Asia-Pacific network," said F-H regional director, EVP and senior partner Lynne Anne Stevenson.
