HK comes first in new trade survey

HONG KONG Electronics buyers surveyed by Global Sources have said Hong Kong is their preferred trade-show destination in Asia.

The survey also revealed buyers plan to purchase more on their next sourcing trip and stay longer to visit other shows in Hong Kong. One quarter of buyers said they plan to stay in Hong Kong one or two days longer than they have on previous trips, and 12% of people asked said they would stay more than five days. Global Sources chairman and CEO, Merle Hinrichs, said: "The results of this buyer survey are great news for Hong Kong. Buyers have said they prefer to travel to Hong Kong for trade shows due to quality and variety of suppliers, and overall trip convenience. "This bodes very well for local service industries and gives strong support to Hong Kong's role as Asia's trade-show capital." The surveys were sent to 7,527 buyers and drew 548 valid responses. The response rate of 7.3% is based on completed forms received from volume buyers.
