She replaces Emily Chan, who left in May to undertake graduate studies.
Gale was previously integrated communications director at Saatchi & Saatchi in London overseeing about 100 employees, representing about a third of the agency's London workforce.
She was there for 18 months and before that was deputy MD and founding partner of Grey Global Group's one-to-one communications agency Grey Direct.
Her main task was to grow Draft's business here, she said, adding that Draft was well-known in the US, but a lot of work still needed to be done in Asia to educate the market about the agency's capabilities.
