Dutt moves back to region to lead CNBC's research

SINGAPORE: CNBC Asia-Pacific has appointed Prashan Dutt for the newly-created position of regional director of research.

Dutt, who has two decades' experience in media planning, marketing and research, said that his new role aimed to "help drive sales forward" at the channel. CNBC Asia-Pacific vice-president of international sales, Barry Hirsch, described Dutt as having an "impressive international reputation as a media research analyst and advertising/selling strategist".

Dutt has worked in both the agency and media owner sides of the business.

His agency experience, spanning 14 years, includes J. Walter Thompson, McCann-Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather and Bozell.

Latterly, he worked for media owners - Times Publishing Group in Hong Kong and more recently at Forbes Global.
