Inside the DM box is a jigsaw puzzle, a tattoo and a lenticular. I started with the jigsaw, and half an hour later I managed to put three pieces together. There's an eye here and a nostril there, my guess is it forms the picture on the box when put together.
The tattoo is an image of a footprint. I put this on my butt. It looks like someone just gave me a kick.
The lenticular I kept. When I flip it I see a different face staring intently back at me, like a handmade version of that Michael Jackson video. Plus it's got a nifty calendar on the back.
Four ideas in one package. Maybe it's the old school in me, but I would've kept it simple. The thought that we are all descended from an African is pretty powerful - it's intriguing, totally engaging.
Is there any African left in me, I wonder? Can I jump like Michael Jordan, I wonder? Turn that statement into an idea - one idea - and not only is the message focused and clear, but money would've been saved as well.
The pieces look like they're aimed at a younger audience; the downside is the message doesn't necessarily speak to them.
The upside? There's probably another feature coming up next.
