We had him down as Tom Jones but Diary's very own deep throat (bear with us, he'll be unmasked soon enough) tells us it's Joe Uva, the worldwide boss of OMD.
Uva and OMD bigwigs were apparently at an MTV upfront scheduling party in New York being serenaded by Sir Elton John and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kid Rock (Pammy's squeeze), Farrah Fawcett, Dallas' baddie Larry Hagman and MTV's re-resurrected star Ozzy Osbourne.
It was while checking out MTV's upcoming line-up that Pammy, who does voiceovers for one of Viacom's channels, suddenly appeared, sidled up to Uva, snapped the cuffs on and tugged a very willing man out of the room.
Uva returned a while later look- ing very "happy about it".
That's part of the story. Now check out the rest of the gang two seats down from Uva's left. It's dark but those Harry Potter-like specs (OK the look as well seeing that OMD's a network of star lookalikes) must be a dead giveaway. Why it's none other than OMD's Asia boss Mike Cooper.
You're forgiven, if like us, you failed to recognise Cooper at first.
It has after all been weeks since he was last seen in Sars-struck Hong Kong. Cooper insists his lengthy overseas sojourn is all work-related, which is true otherwise Diary wouldn't have been able to spin this tale of Uva and Pammy. But let's not be mean to Cooper. He's one of the few agency chiefs who - as the source of this picture proves - does think about Diary despite a very hectic travelling schedule. After all, Cooper wasn't the only industry exec coincidentally called away on a lengthy overseas stint in the last couple of weeks. It was equally hard finding TBWA regional chief Keith Smith, Turner's Asia-Pacific boss Steve Marcopoto and Saatchi & Saatchi head honcho Patrick Pitcher.
