Or the type of people it hires.
Which is why Diary has been left guessing as to what the agency or its new staffers are exactly trying to say with these steamy shots that accompanied the agency's press release. Our guess is that BBDO has a dress-down office code - the skimpier the outfit the better. Or it's the kind of agency...
forget that thought.
The truth it seems is that Maurice Wee and Renee Lim believe that corporate mug shots aren't their style as befits their creative status. Apparently the pair pulled these pictures from their family album to pass off as publicity shots. Not that Diary minds this seeing how we're still trying to get agency executives (you'd think they would know better) to stop sending in pictures of themselves as 18-year-olds or to at least have the camera in focus when the shot is taken.
It's also reached our ear that the pair are married to each other. That being the case, we're mighty thankful that they haven't chosen something really compromising from their private boudoir collection. Word has it that the two have been working, winning awards, eating and sleeping together for most of the last five years. No easy feat in this manic industry so perhaps they deserve the award for creative couple with the most staying power. It's also the type of marriage that allows a third party in the picture. That third party is Francis Wee, BBDO's executive creative director.
It appears that the three are especially tight so much so that when one moves the rest will soon follow. The close liaison started in J. Walter Thompson Singapore, and continued in Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore and Hong Kong. It will be replayed in BBDO Singapore when the couple rejoin Francis on May 15. Sadly, that's the truth without Diary's racy embellishment.
