His custom publishing business is run by brother Bjorn. And for play - at least that's how the wiry Fjelddahl sees marathon running - he's enlisted wife Chiaki in his team, Asia Nonstop. The team has won a total of six Action Asia challenge races.
Mother of three, Chiaki, can certainly match Fjelddahl on the circuit, having won a number of long distance records, including Hong Kong's official 100km ultra-marathon, a record which she set in Japan a month ago. She is also the fastest woman in the Trailwalker race in Hong Kong.
The pair had only raced together twice at the Mild 7 Outdoor Quest in China in 1998, which is the equivalent of the World Championships, and the Action Asia Challenge Thailand in 2000, when they decided to enter the AXN Challenge together this year.
Naturally, they won the mixed section of the race, and came in fourth overall, which Fjelddahl blames on a minor navigation error. But winning isn't everything. "The fun part is getting dirty with your wife, he quips.
Incidentally, he's tried to throw in a 'sponsorship' element titled Asia Nonstop in his marketing plans to clients, "but they see through it every time", he rues.
