Danone shifts $30m Indonesian media account into MPG

JAKARTA - French consumer goods giant Danone has shifted its estimated US$30 million Indonesian media business from GroupM's MediaCom to Havas Media's MPG following a pitch with Carat, Initiative and MEC.

The move sees Danone align its Indonesian media activities with the US, Russia, France, Spain and Mexico, where MPG is its media agency.

MediaCom ends a three-year partnership with Danone, which owns Indonesia’s biggest selling water brand Aqua, milk brand SGM and the energy drink Mizone.

Vishnu Mohan, CEO of Havas Media Asia Pacific, said: “This is indeed a great win for us in Indonesia. Not only does it provide a testimony to our positioning of ‘Leading New Thinking’, but it puts us right among the Top 3 agencies in the market.”

MPG will work on Danone with Activate, a domestic agency with which MPG has a strategic partnership in Indonesia.
