Catcha shuts down OK! Singapore mag

<P>Catcha Media Group has shut down its local edition of OK! magazine just one year after its launch, due to financial reasons. </P> <P>The publisher will still continue production of the UK-based celebrity and entertainment magazine in Malaysia. </P> <P>"After our first quarter review, we decided to focus our efforts in Malaysia. We're very bullish about the market there," said Luke Elliott, group head of publishing at Catcha Media Group. "Singapore was very competitive and we tried our best, but unfortunately had to let it go." </P> <P>OK! Singapore launched in mid-2005, helmed by former Blu Inc editor Sue Cheok, and in its final month claimed a circulation of 30,000. In Singapore, the celebrity and entertainment category is dominated by MediaCorp glossies 8 Days and Chinese-language i-Weekly. </P> <P>Catcha also publishes Juice, FourFourTwo and Stuff in Southeast Asia. </P>
