Ms Helen Mok-Sargent has been appointed to the position of

Asia-Pacific agent manager at Getty Images - a leading global ecommerce

provider of imagery and related products and services.

Ms Mok-Sargent, who has been in the stock photo business since 1982,

will help oversee the development and expansion of Getty's sales

network.

She was previously the licensee of The Image Bank Hong Kong from 1985 to

1998, during which time the company grew to be a major player in the

stock photography and film footage market in the region, with major

brands such as Archive, Swanstock and Artville.

Getty acquired The Image Bank last November as part of its worldwide

expansion drive and one of Ms Mok-Sargent's immediate tasks is to help

establish a new structure and lines of communications.

"Of utmost importance is to liaise with all areas of the network, chart

out reporting channels and to reorganise work duties to avoid

duplication of work. Basically, we are taking the cultures of the

different brands we manage to form an 'all for one and one for all'

attitude within the Getty network," she told MEDIA.

Getty's more significant acquisition included Visual Communications

Group.

It also formed an alliance with Internet media and commerce network

AltaVista Company and a deal allowing access of National Geographic's

image collection through Getty's creative professional portal site,

gettyone.com.
