BBDO wins global duties for HP task

GLOBAL - BBDO is set to pick up global distribution duties for HP's imaging and printing (IPG) division above-the-line creative in a move that could displace 10-year incumbent Publicis Worldwide.

BBDO’s Omnicom stablemate, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, is currently responsible for creative strategy for the IPG unit.

Publicis Groupe has handled HP’s consolidated advertising business since 2000, with Publicis Worldwide taking charge of the business in Asia-Pacific last year (Media, 6 March, 2007).

In addition, it is thought that HP’s regional procurement division has broken away from the ongoing global PR agency review, to assess Asia-Pacific’s needs independently. The development comes as the global process comes to an apparent standstill, despite an extensive RFI and agency meetings late last year.
