Bang PR lands Motor Image biz

Motor Image Enterprises, sole distributor of Subaru automobiles in Singapore, has awarded its one-year PR retainer to local independent Bang Public Relations.

The news follows a briefing process that was dogged by rumours of a tight budget -- which was believed to have deterred other agencies. "We quoted for some activities, but in the end we decided that the brief was somewhat unrealistic," said Grayling Asia managing director James Acheson Gray. However, Bang's principle consultant in charge of business development and account servicing, Tracy Lui, said that the account was sizeable and was taken on for strategic reasons. "It is definitely one of our bigger accounts and it will boost our company's credentials further," Lui said. PR Communications also pitched for the business, but incumbent agency Mileage Communications did not. Motor Image regional marketing manager Sharon Wan said the change was designed to bring the visibility level for Subaru in Singapore to the next level. "The awareness is there, we just need to increase our visibility and go beyond what we're currently doing with communications," said Wan, who also noted that Motor Image was new to PR. sm
