Ad Nut has witnessed many strange sights from Ad Nut's oak tree perch over the years, but even Ad Nut has never managed to snap a photo of the elusive Yeti or capture conclusive evidence of the Loch Ness Monster.
It seems Vodafone Australia and the new iPhone 17 Pro have succeeded where countless cryptozoologists have failed. In a series of charming spots, the telecommunications giant has caught the intimate meetings of the secret society of mythical beasts on camera. For creatures with an established general disdain for being filmed on camera, these appear more dignified than the murderous canines that constantly terrorise Ad Nut’s oak-tree domicile.
The campaign includes a teaser, hero feature and a suite of bespoke social edits that highlight the phone’s improved features such as durability, battery life and form factor.
“When your diary includes meeting invites like ‘Leprechaun Discussion,’ you know you’re working on ‘one of the good ones, ’” said Thinkerbell head creative tinker Zander Williment.
“We’ve very much enjoyed applying our Measured Magic to the Vodafone and Apple brands. Shoutout to all our talented partners who helped bring this idea to life. Now go get yourself a shiny new iPhone.”
Ad Nut applauds the tongue-in-cheek creative approach. Frankly, the new phone launches with talk about cell phone towers, battery graphs, and network speed are quite headache-inducing. Thinkerbell's idea of capturing creatures who've built entire careers on photographic evasion is novel and slightly cruel—like dangling acorns just out of reach.
Perhaps someday technology will advance enough to capture squirrels in their full splendour. But unlike these amateur cryptids, Ad Nut’s ilk has perfected photographic evasion through superior reflexes that outpace human tech and an unmatched tail-to-body ratio that creates natural motion blur no camera can overcome.
