Beer in the ear feels queer, I fear (oh, dear)

From Sweden: A beer brand creates an audio experience meant to provide "brain orgasms".

Apparently, some of you humans take pleasure from a brain phenomenon called ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response): soft sounds close to your ears trigger a sensation of tingling on the scalp and neck. Apparently this is pleasurable and leads to euphoria and relaxation, with some of you even referring to the experience as a "brain orgasm".

Knowing this, Swedish beer brand Norrlands Guld Ljus decided that ASMR would be a good way for people to experience drinking a beer at times when they couldn't actually drink a beer. Even though that makes zero sense, the brand created an audio experience and posted it on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music. The above video explains the project and sort of recreates the audio experience in English, but Ad Nut implores you to listen on Spotify for the fully produced experience, in Swedish.

Shudder. Ad Nut tries not to judge. But seriously, what in the name of all that is holy is wrong with you people? This is not pleasurable! It gives Ad Nut the howling fantods. Even an hour after listening, Ad Nut can't escape the feeling that reality has been punctured, that equilibrium has been knocked off kilter and will be difficult to restore. Do. Not. Want.

And whomever decided to associate this with beer, you are a bad, bad person! Beer is one of humanity's greatest achievements, while this? This is a form of torture that Ad Nut would not wish upon the most murderous of all murderous beasts that ever murdered innocent woodland creatures.

If you enjoy this, you can have it! Ad Nut is going to try very hard to forget it ever existed, but fears that will not be possible.

Ad NutAd Nut is a surprisingly literate woodland creature that for some unknown reason has an unhealthy obsession with advertising. Ad Nut gathers ads from all over the world and presents them for your viewing pleasure. Because Ad Nut loves you.
