William Adamopoulos named Asia CEO at Forbes Media

SINGAPORE - Forbes Media, the publisher of Forbes magazine, has promoted William Adamopoulos to the newly created role of CEO for Asia.

The Singapore-based Adamopoulos will continue to serve as president and publisher of Forbes Asia.

Earlier, he was responsible for launching Forbes Asia magazine as well as local editions including Forbes China, Forbes Korea, Forbes India and Forbes Indonesia. Amongst international titles, the advertising share held by Forbes in Asia has grown from 1 per cent in 1999 to more than 21 per cent in 2012, according to the company.

Adamopoulos has also developed and grown a profitable conference and events business. Some of these events include the Forbes Global CEO Conference, Forbes Asia Best Under a Billion Award Ceremony and Dinner and Forbes Forum on Asia’s Power Business Women.

“During his time at Forbes, [Adamopoulos] and the talented team he leads have built an extraordinary business in the region and elevated the presence of our brand in highly visible, positive and profitable ways,” said Mike Perlis, president and CEO.

Adamopulos joined Forbes Media in 1999. He was previously the publisher and MD of the Wall Street Journal Asia, and president of Dow Jones Publishing Company (Asia). A 1984 graduate of Harvard College, where he studied economics, Adamopoulos has been living and working in the Asia-Pacific region for 28 years.
