Proximity taps NYC talent for HK roles

Proximity Hong Kong, BBDO's digital arm, has made two new senior hires from New York agencies with Matt Rotondo named as business director and Jeremiah Neo as digital director.

"We feel the bar needs to be raised in terms of the interactive work in Asia right now," said Simon Bond, regional director of Proximity Asia.

"As a region, Asia has great designers and coders, but we need to improve the standard of our strategic thinking and development of consumer insights if we are to be recognised on a global level."

Rotondo has worked in New York with agencies such as Wieden & Kennedy, Deutsch, Interbrand and TAG, McCann Erickson's digital arm, where he worked across key accounts such as Absolut, Coco-Cola, Nikon and Levi's.

He created the highly-recognised Levi's webfilm, '501 Uncomplicate', that won AdWeek's Top Ad of the Year award last year.

Neo, meanwhile, has worked with iXL and Goldstein & Associates in the US, and Formul8 and ICLP in Singapore, on interactive projects with Tiffany, Estee Lauder, Merrill Lynch and BMG.
