Outdoor vendor talks up medium on HK's bus fleet

HONG KONG: Newly-listed outdoor company MediaNation has kicked off a house campaign to promote bus advertising.

The 'Power of outdoor' campaign is reminiscent of an earlier and highly-awarded outdoor effort by The Economist, which had witty messages on buses and other outdoor options. Like The Economist, MediaNation's house campaign was created by Ogilvy & Mather, and is running on more than 200 buses from the Kowloon Motor Bus and New World First Bus fleet.

The campaign carries simple messages to draw attention to some of the unique benefits of bus advertising, while also promoting MediaNation's new corporate name.

Mega rear bus backs read: "if you miss this ad, there'll be another any minute". The campaign is expected to go beyond buses to billboards, metro stations and kiosks.
