The new programme picks the most popular elements of the regional schemes and makes them available to members worldwide from July 1.
Stephen Thompson, regional general manager of Qantas and British Airways, Southeast Asia, said: "For our Asian customers, we have tailored our Executive Club to enable the earning of Asia Miles, which is the frequent flyer currency in Asia. Asia Miles is also the name of the travel reward programme (of Oneworld), and we have retained this partnership to ensure that we keep our Asian customers loyal to British Airways."
Passengers in Asia will continue to earn Asia Miles when flying with Qantas and any other Oneworld partner airlines, hotel, car rental, business and financial partners.
Members outside of Asia will be able to redeem flights by combining mileage and cash, use their mileage for cabin upgrades and use household accounts for pooling mileages under the new programme.
They will have round the clock access of their accounts on the web to book BA flight redemptions, receive e-tickets for redemption travel and book upgrades or Part Cash Park Miles benefits. The waiting period for redemption will be reduced to three days from the current 10 to 14 days.
The mileage earning structure has also been simplified into a sliding scale for easier calculation of mileage earned.
