The regattas on the circuit, which are well established in their own right, came together under a unified umbrella in 2000 via Hong Kong-based promoter Proteus Sports.
Proteus managing director Andrew Owen said Omega's involvement would give the sport a further boost.
"A company of the size and class of Omega has a huge PR machine that is capable of generating more media coverage," said Owen.
"This can be as simple as utilising contacts in the media or as complex as media hosting or buying satellite time to distribute news. The benefits for Omega are clear, and those same benefits apply to AYC."
Omega's involvement fits with its global sailing sponsorship strategy, which includes official timekeeping for the Swedish Match Cup and the prestigious America's Cup.
Under the sponsorship deal, Omega is entitled to have its branding emblazoned on all boats, marker buoys, flags, banners and prize presentation podiums.
Races will also be billed as being part of the Omega Asian Yachting Circuit.
TV coverage will include lifestyle and destination features to broaden audience interest in yachting.
