Nickelodeon taps Australia GM to fill Asia-Pac VP post

Catherine Nebauer, general manager for Nickelodeon Australia, has been promoted to senior vice-president/general manager for the channel across Asia-Pacific.

In her new role, she will be based in Singapore and will lead the development of Nickelodeon's operations regionally, with an emphasis on content and marketing. In this capacity, Nebauer will partner with the local management of Nickelodeon's channels in India, Japan, China, Southeast Asia and Australia. Nebauer -- who has more than 17 years' experience -- was the driving force behind the launch of Australian Kids Choice Awards franchise in 2003 and 2004. She also oversaw the development of Nick Jr, the first channel in Australia dedicated to preschoolers. She previously worked at Kodansha publishing.
