New Monaco alliance to target organisers

MONACO - Monaco's principal business tourism players have combined to launch a marketing concept aimed specifically at conference organisers.

'Monaco Meetings' unites the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority, the Grimaldi Forum and all of the principality's hotels and agencies. Under this new alliance, organisers are offered a number of benefits, most notably a single point of contact, discount booklets for delegates, online event promotion and preferential fares with Air France. "It makes it much easier for the client now," said Monaco CVB director Marie Caruso-Ravera. "This is a big move and bringing together various bodies will raise awareness of all our services." The CVB has existed in some form for 12 years, but this is the first time it has been involved in such a wide initiative, she added. Monaco's existing bedstock will increase by around 15 per cent in October when Société des Bains de Mer opens a 334-room hotel in the Larvotto district. Some of the key hotels including Metropole Monte-Carlo and Le Méridien Beach Plaza have recently undergone multi-million pound renovations.
