"We still have some way to go to pull our departments together, but hiring Todd is a step in the right direction," said Stephen Mangham, chairman of Ogilvy Singapore.
"We want to mash-up our creative offering across all disciplines, and not be hide-bound by the way we used to work," he added.
McCracken's arrival will strengthen a creative department weakened by the departure of Ogilvy Advertising ECD Sonal Dabral and Peter Moss, the OgilvyOne ECD.
Moss joined Ogilvy New York in September while Dabral will take on the regional CD role at BatesAsia in December.
Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific regional ECD and co-chairman Tham Khai Meng commented: "Todd is a world-class player whose experience in the region will bring fresh insights into the organisation. With Todd at the helm, I'm confident he can take the team to the next level."
McCracken left the regional ECD position at Grey earlier this year (Media 24 April).
