Lowe shifts Singapore ECD to China

SHANGHAI: Andrew Reznik, executive creative director at Lowe Singapore, will transferring to the agency's Shanghai office in January to replace Guy Winston.

Reznik's move comes as Lowe Singapore trims back following the loss of its largest regional client, HSBC, to J Walter Thompson earlier this year. He will assume creative responsibilities for Lowe's Shanghai and Guangzhou operations.

Winston, who became Lowe China's first ECD last year, said he was looking to take up a role in a regional hub where he could focus on multi-country business.

The appointment of Reznik is part of a larger overhaul of the creative function by Lowe China. Danny Cheng has been promoted to the new role of ECD for Beijing, while Simmon Wang, Li Dong and Vincent Pang, formerly Procter & Gamble group director at Saatchi & Saatchi, have been named group CDs in Shanghai. Pang will have special responsibility for the agency's Johnson & Johnson and Interbrew business.

Lowe China has been reorganising its creative structure since bringing in a new creative services director three months ago, introducing more specialised roles.

Lowe China's managing director, Addison James, said the agency needed to beef up its creative offering to service both existing and new clients in an increasingly competitive brand landscape.

"The quality of the creative work is becoming more important," he said.

"There are so many brands competing in each sector that they need to differentiate themselves from each other."

Lowe China's creative department has grown by 15 per cent across China since the beginning of the year, bringing the number of creatives in Shanghai to 33 and the number in Beijing to 16.
