Kennedy to depart Euro RSCG

HONG KONG - Euro RSCG Hong Kong MD Margaret Kennedy (pictured) has resigned her position at the agency after two years, with other members of the agency expected to follow.

A Euro spokesperson said the move was a “mutual decision”. “Some of her staff are expected to leave, but we expect minimal impact on revenue,” added the spokesperson.

Kennedy told Media that she will announce her next move in due course.

A source suggested that the decision had been taken because of a “personality clash” between Kennedy and Euro chief executive Antony Chow. In addition, to Kennedy, CD Ricky Cheung is also set to leave, with the spokesperson citing Cheung’s “loyalty” to Kennedy as the reason behind his decision.

Kennedy joined Euro RSCG in mid-2006 from her own agency, after a lengthy career that included stints at Leo Burnett, JWT, DDB and FCB.

Separately, Euro RSCG China ECD China Eddie Wong is also leaving the agency.

“He has been with us for over two years, having joined with a mission to raise the creative bar of Euro RSCG in China,” said the spokesperson. “He has certainly achieved this, having personally built up the creative teams in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. As a result, these teams have been producing excellent creative work, which saw us as the second most awarded agency at both the Longxi awards and the China 4A awards in 2007.”
