Emirates takes a refreshing new tack. In the carrier's new spot, Jennifer Aniston hams it up in her trademarked fashion, playing a pampered, clueless celebrity who experiences the 'nightmare' of flying on an airline that does not offer private suites with showers.
Ad Nut likes this much more than a recent campaign for the other Middle East-based ultra-luxury airline that starts with an "E", Etihad, which wasted Nicole Kidman's talents.
According to Etihad, Oscar-nominee Bryan Buckley, known for numerous Super Bowl ads, directed. RKCR/Y&R London developed the concept, while the script was a collaboration between the agency, Buckley and Emirates’ in-house advertising team. The global digital and TV campaign will begin in the US and UAE and roll out in November to other key Emirates markets: the UK, Germany, France, Italy, India and Australia. Emirates said it has invested $20 million in media for the campaign.
(Editor's note: Ad Nut mistakenly attributed the Nicole Kidman Etihad ad to Emirates in the original and quickly edited version of this post. Ad Nut will be sent to bed without any cashews.)
