Hyro boosts digital capabilities in Greater China

SYDNEY - Digital business services company Hyro has agreed to acquire Dutch-listed Getronics NV's Applications Services business in China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Getronics, which boasts more than 500 employees in Greater China, focuses on technology services that provide marketing and consumer analysis for clients in the finance, retail, media and airline sectors. The deal, expected to be completed by the end of this month, will provide Hyro with access to 34 mainland cities, and coincides with plans by Hyro to also expand in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

“We understood many years ago that online marketing was going to fuse with technology, and marketing now is all about putting out an offering to the customer and brand managers, and embedding a call to action in that offer,” said Hyro’s CEO, Joe Calavassy.
