HK gets a look at plight of animals through outdoor

Animal rights group Animals Asia has kicked off an eye-catching outdoor campaign, drawing attention to the plight of animals across the region.

Created by Publicis Hong Kong, the campaign takes a highly visual approach to the subject of animal cruelty. In the first piece of work 'Bear Rescue', a poster of a bear is placed behind the steel bars of a pedestrian railing in high-traffic parts of the city, representing the cages the animals are incarcerated in. Another ad running at Star Ferry terminals, titled 'One Million Served', aims to change attitudes towards eating dogs, a common practice in parts of Asia. "It's estimated that up to 7,000 bears are still trapped on farms in China and milked daily for their bile," said Shaun Branagan, ECD Publicis Hong Kong. Both campaigns are seeking donations from the public.
