The Hong Kong Clipper, which sailed into the city last month, is the third round world racer to be sponsored by the Government-backed agency over the past three years. Mike Rowse, director-general of InvestHK, believes that yacht sponsorship not only helps to convey the right message about Hong Kong, it also reaches the agency's target market. "My target is that one percent of the population that is intimately involved in making strategic corporate decisions about overseas investment. Our target is a very small segment of the general community; they have two main sporting interests, golf and sailing." For £25,000, InvestHK co-sponsors the yacht during its 11-month circumnavigation of the globe.
