Asus Padfone is a smartphone-tablet hybrid
Kangaroos are the clowns of the animal kingdom. They’re stupid and have massive feet. But they’ve evolved a neat trick – a pouch in which to sling their unruly offspring while they’re hopping around the outback. Asus has borrowed this trick for its Padfone, which docks your smartphone in its own gadgety pouch.

Microsoft Windows 8 seen for the first time
Tech years are like dog years, but shorter. Most gadget owners are happy to shoot their gadget in the face after only a couple of years, while their beloved pets live on into double figures before they let the vet creep up on the unsuspecting animal with a loaded syringe. So at 25 years old, it must be time to haul Microsoft’s Windows OS round the back and say a few soothing words while loading both barrels.

Motorola Xoom 2 tablet leaked
Moto either got a bit sloppy or loves to tease – the company's US website seems to have leaked a pic of the Motorola Xoom 2. Alongside the vague partial image of the Xoom 2 is a watchphone called the Tracy XL – presumably named after Dick Tracy – and a bevy of new handsets, the Slimline, Zaha, Targa and Pearl.
