Amadeus event in Bangkok gathers airline executives

Bangkok Amadeus, the global distribution and technology provider for the travel industry, held a three-day regional airline conference in Bangkok this month.

Entitled 'Anticipating the Future' and Technology Exchange Exhibition attracted more than 100 senior airline executives from 35 Asia- Pacific airlines to the Conrad Hotel, Bangkok. Speakers included leading executives from the Hong Kong Airport Authority, Thai Airways, British Airways, Qantas, Bangkok Airways, Philippine Airlines, Asiana Airlines, TransAsia Airways and Cathay Pacific. Discussions centred on the challenges facing the aviation industry in integrating business and IT strategy, managing costs, increasing revenue and customer loyalty. In conjunction with the conference, delegates were invited to attend a Technology Exchange Exhibition displaying the latest Amadeus travel technologies. In his welcome address Amadeus Asia Pacific president David Brett said the conference aimed to focus on how airlines of all types were leveraging technology to play a decisive role in achieving their business objectives.
