ZenithOptimedia scoops Fox global media

LOS ANGELES - Twentieth Century Fox has appointed ZenithOptimedia to its US$1.1 billion global media planning and buying account.

Although only the US portion of the account has been awarded so far, the entertainment company has always insisted that it was looking to align the account into one media network, so the international account is set to be awarded to the Publicis Groupe-owned media agency.

ZenithOptimedia faced off with MindShare to take the task, after the third contender Aegis-owned Vizeum was removed from the process at an earlier stage.

The US accounts for approximately 70 per cent of Fox's global media spend. Its other key global markets are Japan, Australia, Korea, the UK and Germany.
