Zenith Optimedia wins M1 media account

SINGAPORE - Singapore - M1, Singapore's third largest cellular service provider, have reportedly selected Zenith Optimedia as its media partner, replacing incumbent OMD.

Zenith Optimedia wins M1 media account

Four agencies including Zenith Optimedia, Starcom, MPG and OMD were in the running to secure M1's media business since it called a pitch in May this year.

Incumbent OMD had the media business for 12 years. It is understood that M1 is looking for fresh perspective on its media planning.

Chief executive of Omnicom Media Group Singapore, Torie Henderson confirmed the news saying that after 12 years of partnership, OMD Singapore and M1 had mutually agreed to part ways.

“We have enjoyed the relationship with M1 and will definitely miss working with the team as we part ways at this juncture," Henderson said. "Our teams are working together to ensure a smooth transition and in the meantime, we wish M1 all the best.”

Commenting on the win, Vikram Bansal, managing director of Zenith Optimedia said: "We are indeed delighted that M1 has chosen Zenith Optimedia as their agency-of-record."

He added: "We look forward to working with M1 to create innovative and cutting-edge communication plans that will actively engage both their consumers and business partners. We will harness all our relevant experience in the telco sector to deliver real ROI to M1."

M1 currently has more than 1.7 million customers. It provides a full range of voice and data communications services over its 2G, 3G and 3.5G networks, as well as fixed and mobile broadband.
