The Dopod Mobile account includes both media planning and buying, and is valued at US$8 million. Media is expected to focus on print. Zenith already handles Dopod in India.
In addition, the agency has extended its relationship with China Mobile to include media planning for Shanghai Mobile, previously handled in-house. The agency is expected to start work on the account in February.
The key challenge is to maximise the revenue return per user in Shanghai, which is China Mobile’s second largest market (after Guangzhou). Estimated monitored billings are slightly below US$18 million.
