Ambar Brahamachary, president of Y&R Asia confirmed the news and said Sirajudden will be moving on in January.
“At Y&R Asia, we have been examining our digital strategy and its implementation for some time and we arrived at the conclusion that effective implementation was only possible with talent on the ground in each of our offices, not at the regional level.”
Brahmachary said that Y&R Singapore has been a “trailblazer” under the leadership of its digital head Taru Jain.
“Based on our successful experience in Singapore, we decided to replicate the Singapore model in all our offices, starting with China, where the relevant talent has been identified.”
Y&R Asia is currently working closely with its US-based digital agency VML and also with WPP owned Blue. “Working with Blue and VML allows us to collaborate in ways that were not conceivable and indeed possible only a year ago.”
