Rebeschini returns after a stint at TBWA/Chiat/Day New York, where he was associate creative director, and is part of Tony Granger’s plans to revitalise Y&R’s global creative output.
Granger, who was brought in as Y&R’s global creative director nine months ago, said: “We are recommitting to pushing our creative standards higher. We have a great deal of talent in the region and Marcus will be an inspiring leader who will encourage creative collaboration.”
Ambar Brahmachary (pictured), president of Y&R Asia, said: “We have made some progress in recent years, but we simply need to dial up the level of creativity - our clients depend on us to do that in an increasingly complex and time-competitive marketplace for ideas. It is matter of good is not good enough and Tony and [Global CEO] Hamish McLenan are constantly reminding us of this truism.”
Chanen joined Y&R three years ago from DDB Japan. He was hired by ex-regional CEO Chris Jaques in 2005.
