Y&R beefs up China planning function
<P>SHANGHAI Y&R China has beefed up its senior management as it prepares to begin aggressively seeking new business.</P> <P>Former Dentsu head of marketing and strategic planning Madison Chang has taken up the newly-created post of VP of strategic planning, marking the first time the agency has had a senior planner in China. </P> <P>Greater China CEO Wei Wei Chen has also appointed Fred Tong as Shanghai ECD, adding that part of his role would also involve supporting the Beijing and Guangzhou offices as the need arises.</P> <P>With the core management team now in place, Chen said the time was right for Y&R China to focus on increasing revenue.</P> <P>"New business is the single target that I have, and the focus is revenue growth," she said. "Now we have the planning, we have two senior people, so I think we are strong enough to go out and get some new business."</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>
