YoungGuns show lined up for under-30s

<p>SYDNEY: A new international awards programme is set to recognise </p><p>the work of advertising industry professionals under the age of 30, </p><p>while highlighting the creative potential of students. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The YoungGuns (International Advertising Awards will be held in Sydney </p><p>on October 19 with the winners decided by a celebrated judging team of </p><p>15 drawn from agencies worldwide including David Droga (Saatchi & </p><p>Saatchi), Dave Bell (KesselsKramer Amsterdam) and Eugene Cheong (Ogilvy </p><p>& Mather Singapore). </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>YoungGuns director Michael Kean said the idea of the awards came from </p><p>the belief that young creatives were not getting a chance to take part </p><p>in the mainstream contests. By not participating, it meant that "young, </p><p>radical and innovative" people did not get a springboard to allow their </p><p>work to be seen by a wider audience of their peers at an early stage in </p><p>their career. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>There are eight categories including television, cinema, radio and </p><p>poster. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Outside of the main awards YoungGuns is running the YoungGun Student of </p><p>the Year award with the winning getting a three-month placement at any </p><p>DDB office worlwide.
