Young Thai stars front Pepsi Latte TV-led Thai sell

Pepsi has roped in Thai showbiz stars to help it launch Pepsi Latte, which combines the taste of Pepsi with the aroma of coffee, in a TV-led rollout.

"From our consumer survey, we found out that while young adults still love the unique refreshing taste of Pepsi, they also want to try new drinks that would show and represent their individual tastes and styles, like coffee for instance," said Charlie Jitcharoongphorn, marketing director of Pepsi Thailand. Set in a coffee shop, the 30-second 'Best in You' spot by BBDO Thailand shows two celebrities competing for a bottle of Pepsi Latte and the popularity it brings. The spot is fronted by Dan-D2B, a Thai teenage sensation, and Arnut, an upcoming show business talent. "While Dan clearly personifies Pepsi's 'Dare for More' concept and inspires youngsters to believe in themselves, Arnut represents the passion of today's teenagers in pursuing their ambitions in life," said Jitcharoongphorn. OgilvyPR also initiated media activities and product sampling to raise awareness of the product. "In order to reach a wide group of target consumers, specially first jobbers, Pepsi Latte was made available in cans and in bottles," said Dhitivute Bulsook, marketing director of Pepsi's bottler, Serm Suk.
