Yili reviews yoghurt creative

SHANGHAI - Chinese dairy giant Yili has shortlisted agencies to handle its yoghurt business, pitting incumbent Euro RSCG against a line-up thought to include Grey and McCann Erickson.

While yoghurt remains a mid-sized business for Yili, it is considered a faster-growing segment than the company's traditionally strong milk portfolio.

At present, Yili is believed to account for less than 20 per cent of the yoghurt category, behind category leader Bright Dairy and Mengniu.

The development comes after Yili handed creative duties on its milk powder business to JWT in late 2007, displacing incumbent Dentsu Beijing (Media, 10 January).
