Yahoo!7 selects new PR AOR

SYDNEY - Yahoo!7, a joint venture between Yahoo and Seven Network, has appointed Hill & Knowlton as its PR agency-of-record following a three-way pitch.

Yahoo!7 marketing director Fergus Kibble stated that Hill & Knowlton would assist the company in building its brand via engaging consumer PR. The WPP agency is currently working on a re-branding campaign and a communications programme relating to Yahoo!7’s status as official online broadcaster of the Beijing Olympics.

The joint venture between Yahoo and Seven Network incorporates Yahoo’s search capabilities to provide Seven’s TV and magazine content to users across Australia and New Zealand.

Separately, Hill & Knowlton has appointed Sally Hart to the newly created role of strategy and planning director in Australia, as well as Sophie Halls Anning, who rejoins the agency from PPR as director of consumer lifestyle.

Hart’s appointment marks the extension of the agency’s global planning and research function to the region from hubs in London and New York.

Having begun her career with Hill & Knowlton in London, Halls Anning transferred to PPR in Australia, where she ran the firm’s consumer team and worked with clients such as McDonald’s and Emirates.
